The Factors To Be Considered:
Marinating turkey with olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, salt, pepper and spices before cooking, is a good method to enhance flavor. Our marinated turkey should be kept in a fridge for one day.
Turkey should be gotten out of the fridge one hour before putting in the oven and provided to reach to room temperature.
The butter mixture which is going to be prepared with various spices, should be put under the skin of turkey for a delicious taste. Moreover; rosemary, bay leaf, carrot, onion and celery root can be mixed to our food.
Size is a very important factor while cooking turkey. Cooker should conveniently be put and there should be an empty place about 5 or 7- 8 cm around it.
Degree of heat, should be 160 while cooking turkey. Turkeys between 2- 4,5 kg are cooked in 2 or 3 hours, turkeys between 5- 7,5 kg are cooked in 3 or 4 hours and turkeys between 8- 12,5 kg are cooked in 4 or 5 hours. If roasting bag or aliminium folyo will be used while cooking, degree of heat can be increased to 175.
Our roasted turkey should be aged for 1 hours after packing with aliminium folyo and then it should be served.
